“The Chicago Police Foundation is proud to serve those who serve us,” CPF Chairman Richard A. Simon said in the statement. “In reflecting on events that have adversely affected the men and women of CPD, we understand how important it is to invest in the Department’s most valuable asset, our officers.”

  • FURNISHED QUIET ROOMS

The Chicago Police Foundation is deeply committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of the city's police officers. Recognizing law enforcement's intense pressures and challenges, the Foundation donated furnishings for quiet rooms within all 25 police districts and the Chicago Police Academy. These dedicated spaces offer officers a place to decompress, reflect, and recharge during their shifts, providing much-needed respite from the stress of their demanding jobs. By creating a peaceful environment where officers can take time for themselves, the Chicago Police Foundation underscores its commitment to promoting mental health and ensuring the long-term resilience of the force.

  • Saddles

Our mounted police heroes need gear too! The Chicago Police Foundation has partnered with The Stübben Saddle Company to provide equipment, including saddles, bridles, and tack. In 2022, we donated $130,000 worth of gear to the Chicago Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit.

  • MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

CPF proudly donated $135,000 to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI Chicago provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

  • Emergency First Aid Kits

Law Enforcement Medical and Rescue Training (LEMART) teaches combat care and proper uses of a specialized first aid kit. Given that our police are often the first responders, these kits are vital for our heroes. When the Chicago Police Foundation discovered that our officers had to purchase the kits with their own money, we stepped in. Since 2016 the Chicago Police Foundation has donated over 3000 kits to the officers of the Chicago Police Department. Our goal is for every one of our Chicago Police Officers to own a LEMART kit.

  • Reiki Treatments

Support the mental health and wellness of Chicago Police Department officers by providing funding for innovative treatments, including Reiki. This holistic therapy promotes relaxation and stress reduction, helping officers manage the emotional and physical challenges of their demanding roles. By investing in programs like Reiki, the Foundation demonstrates its commitment to fostering resilience and overall well-being among those who serve and protect our communities.

  • Youth Programs

Donated $70,000 to cosponsor the second annual Youth Community Leaders Award Ceremony. The event honors the year-long leadership and community service efforts of over 350 youth city-wide who are involved with a variety of CPD youth programs, including Youth Explorers, Youth District Advisory Council leaders, Peer Jury members, and trainees from the Chicago Police and Fire Training Academy.

  • Lunch For Our Heroes

Lunch is on us! The Chicago Police Foundation partnered with Chicago-based Guaranteed Rate to provide a delicious meal to every single one of the 16,000 members of the Chicago Police and Fire Departments. The CPF and our friends are proud to provide for all our heroes.

  • ATV Donation

The 18th is also responsible for North Avenue Beach and other busy parts of the Lake Michigan beachfront. The Chicago Police Foundation, along with a private donor, was able to donate ____ All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to the Chicago Police Department. ATVs give our police the proper mobility to move quickly on the beach when an emergency unfolds.

  • New Command Van

Chicago’s 18th Police district is one of the most densely populated in the city. With the assistance of a private donor, the Chicago Police Foundation procured a much-needed command van for the Chicago Police Department. These vehicles help create a mobile command center and are hugely important pieces of technology for our heroes during a crisis.

  • Donation to NOBLE

The Chicago Police Foundation is a proud supporter of the Chicago chapter of The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). The foundation has donated $100,000 towards NOBLE’s goal to solve law enforcement issues, concerns, and the ever-changing needs of African American communities.
